PARAPHRASE TELEORAN from the Governor of the Straits
Settlements to the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
Dated 3rd Karch, 1927.
(Received, Colonial Office, 11.37 a.m., 3rd March, 1927.)
Secret.
Chinese situation.
Your telegram of 2nd February.
Usually I should like a warship always to be
stationed here. But no emergency is now anticipated
in Malaya and as warship would be more valuable
in China I do not ask that one should remain in
Singapore.
